Skating in Celebration Square

The Celebration Square ice rink will open on December 3, 2021 and closes March 20, 2022, weather permitting.

The Celebration Square ice rink is open daily and free for public use. The rink is patrolled on weeknights, weekends and holidays.

Regular hours

Sunday to Thursday: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Friday and Saturdays: 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

During heavy snow or warmer temperatures, the rink may need to temporarily close. To confirm the rink is open, call 905-615-3200 ext. R-I-N-K (7465). To see how busy the ice rink is, view the live webcam.

Holiday hours

The rink will be open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. from December 17, 2021 to January 3, 2022. The rink will also be open until 11 p.m. on New Year’s Eve.

Skate rental and sharpening Services

Skate rental hours

Monday to Thursday: 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Friday: 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Saturday: 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Sunday: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Skate rental holiday hours

10 a.m. to 10 p.m. from December 17, 2021 to January 3, 2022.

Skate rental prices

Skates: $10
Helmets: $5
Skate sharpening: $8

Pricing is for a two-hour skate rental. Lockers are not available.

 Skaters code of conduct

  • Listen to and obey skate patrollers at all times
  • Do not bring food or drink on the ice surface
  • Skate in the approved direction only. Do not skate backwards.
  • All participants must be in full control and be able to avoid contact with other skaters. No horseplay/games.
  • Do not skate excessively fast or erratically
  • No hockey equipment or other toys/equipment are permitted on the ice surface
  • Only approved skate aid devices will be permitted
  • Do not stand/rest on the ice surface
  • Do not carry children while skating
  • Leave the ice surface immediately when asked to do so by the skate patrollers
  • The use of CSA approved hockey helmets by all participants is strongly recommended
  • All participants must wear ice skates (excluding those in wheelchairs/sledges)

  • Wheelchairs (persons accompanying a participant in a wheelchair must wear ice skates)
  • E-Z Gliders
  • Sledges

  • Other equipment not specifically designed as a skating aid
